Contract Production of Test Specimens

Precise and reproducible specimen preparation

Q-tec produces test specimens in accordance with standards, drawings or individual specifications – from a single sample to ongoing series production. The material to be tested is generally supplied by the customer.

Depending on the material, geometry and required quantity, we select the most suitable manufacturing process or develop a dedicated production method for your application.

Punching, machining or laser cutting

Punching

Punching is particularly economical for recurring geometries and high specimen volumes. We produce individual samples, small batches and ongoing series – using multi-cavity cutting dies or automated processes where required.

Machining

CNC machining is suitable for special contours, prototypes and materials that cannot be punched effectively. Test specimens can be produced directly from digital design data without first manufacturing a dedicated cutting die.

Laser cutting

Automated laser processes enable the production of very small or intricate specimens. For one series application, Q-tec developed a process for producing several thousand samples measuring only 5 × 5 millimetres from different textiles and leather.

Trial punching for cutting-die applications

Are you considering purchasing a cutting die, but are not yet sure which design is suitable for your material?

Send us your original material. We will produce initial test specimens and assess the interaction between the material, cutting-edge geometry and punching process. Based on the results, we can recommend or develop a suitable cutting die.
