Designed for your material, geometry and die cutter
Q-tec develops and manufactures custom cutting dies based on drawings, standards, samples or individual requirements.
The material, thickness, specimen geometry, required quantity and available die cutter are considered together. The result is a tool designed to produce precise cutting edges and reproducible test specimens.
Custom geometries
We can provide:
- geometries outside established standards
- circular, rectangular and free-form designs
- very small cutting dies from approximately 1.5 millimetres in diameter
- large-format cutting dies
- combinations of different geometries
- designs for different die cutters and tool holders
If no finished drawing is available, we can develop the required geometry together with you.
Multi-cavity cutting dies for high specimen volumes
Multi-cavity cutting dies produce several specimens in a single punching operation.
Q-tec develops:
- 3-cavity cutting dies
- 5-cavity cutting dies
- 10-cavity cutting dies
- multi-cavity tools with identical geometries
- combination tools with different geometries

From a custom design to an established product
Many Q-tec cutting dies that are now available as standard products were originally developed for a specific customer application.
Examples include:
- Special form 4 × 50 × 50 mm: four specimens in one punching operation
- Special form 6 × Ø 2 mm: six holes in one punching operation
Trial punching using your material
Before the final tool design is selected, you can provide us with original material. We will produce initial samples and determine which cutting-edge geometry and punching method are suitable for your application.
The resulting test specimens can be returned to you for your own evaluation.
Do you require a special cutting-die geometry?
Send us a drawing, standard, photograph or existing specimen. Ideally, your enquiry should also include the material, material thickness, available die cutter and required quantity.
We will first check whether a suitable product is already available. If not, we will develop a custom design for your application.
